A space to create and dream 

I'm Fei, the founder of Flow Candles, and I've always found inspiration in the little things — a painting that catches my eye, a museum I wander into while travelling, music playing in the background, or a story told by someone I met at a new place that opens my mind to different possibilities.

For much of my corporate led career, life looked rather different. I spent years in the fast-paced world of international sports marketing, working with high performance team with global brands like Red Bull Media House and within the exciting world of European football. It was an incredible career that taught me so much about people, creativity, bringing ideas to life and impacting people's lives. But somewhere along the way, I began to long for something more personal — more time to create, to explore, and to express a different side of myself outside of my day job. 

That longing led me to start a weekend retreat - Artesque - back in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, a creative space I founded to bring people together through an open and artist-guided experiences. I wanted to create opportunities for people to step away from their busy lives, pick up a paintbrush, and discover the joy of artistic expression in a welcoming space. Artesque was my way of sharing something I deeply loved — the freedom to explore, create, and connect with like-minded souls. 

When I moved to Switzerland to continue my career in Europe, I remember it was autumn. In a new country with no one I know, I found comfort in lighting a scented candle before sitting down to paint my feelings and how I feel being so far away from home.

I always start with an empty canvas and let my intuition guide me, the fragrant ambience transform my state and I became immersed and fully present with my art and oblivious to the distractions beyond my canvas. 

That feeling stayed with me and made me feel fulfilled.

I began to wonder: if something as simple as a scented candle could help me relax, find focus, feel safe and reconnect with my creativity, could I create something that might inspire others to experience that feeling, too?

And so, Flow Candles was born.

It started with with a personal journey — a way to make more room for creativity in my own life. But it has grown into something I hope to share with others: an invitation to trust your instinct, follow your curiosity, and find joy in the things that make you feel most alive.

Every Flow Candles product is thoughtfully made with high quality ingredients and an appreciation for simplicity, beauty, and purpose. I want each piece to feel at home in your everyday rituals, whether you're painting, reading, listening to music, working on a passion project, or simply taking a moment for yourself.

I'm still on my own journey of discovering what a more creative life can look like. Flow Candles is a part of that journey — and perhaps, in some small way, it can become a part of yours, too.

I strongly believe and advocate that creativity isn't reserved for artists, and inspiration doesn't always arrive in grand gestures. Sometimes, it begins with lighting a candle and giving yourself that space to create.
